Ricki Lake

Yep, that Ricki Lake – and she’s good too.

She’s a famed chat show host, celebrity tv show judge, actress and producer but that’s not really what we care about. Lake came 6th in the Women’s Event at the PCA in 2011 – and that’s where the true glory lies.

I wonder how a chat show host would fare on GGPoker’s tables with our emoji system? We just might offer her some tickets and see for ourselves…

Shane Warne

A true Aussie hero, this one. Shane is considered one of the best cricket bowlers of all time. Known as ‘Hollywood’ by his teammates, Shane has been involved in just about as much as any human being can embroil himself in during a lifetime…. And he’s still racking up new headlines all the time. It’s hard to single out incidents across a career that included snatching a camera from a teenage boy who’d taken his photograph while he was smoking (Warne had signed an endorsement deal with a nicotine-substitute manufacturer), Tweeting “Do gooders get stuffed. Straya (Australia) is the best place in the world, not politically correct, keep it real. Aussies celebrate properly ! #thirsty” in response to complaints about his references to boozing, labelling a journalist a “smug dick”, adding himself to richsugardaddies.com and having more affairs than Ireland has Eurovision wins … ‘nuff said!

Shane’s brash persona translates pretty well to the felt, and he’s played in the WSOP for seven years in a row. Speaking of poker, he says “sometimes it’s not as easy as just throwing down a “Flipper” to an English tailender” – couldn’t have said it better myself.

Shannon Elizabeth

Calling poker her ‘second career’, actress Shannon’s two great passions are poker and and her non-profit animal rescue organization. In 2005, she combined those loves. Hosted by famous tournament director Matt Savage, Shannon organized a fundraising tournament for Animal Avengers in a celebrity poker night. The funds were used, among other things, to 3D print a new beak for a goose called Victoria. Laugh all you want – how many beaks have you created, eh?

Laura Prepon

Laura is famous for her roles in ‘That 70s Show’ and ‘Orange is the New Black’ but she’s also got mad poker skills. Laura has been turning up at the biggest poker events for over 10 years. She even made it on to the front cover of ‘Card Player’ magazine. That’s a pretty cool achievement in our books – fair dues Laura!

Jennifer Tilly

‘Liar Liar’ and ‘Bullets over Broadway’ actress Jennifer Tilly is perhaps the most experienced poker player on this list. At one point, she considered herself more of a poker player than an actress.

With winnings totaling nearly $1,000,000 at the tables, Tilly knows precisely what she’s doing. Although she’s retired from professional poker, she still retains a strong interest and is connected to the world of poker pros through her pro partner of 11 years, ‘Unabomber’ (the card player, not the bad man) Phil Laak.

In 2005, Tilly won a WSOP bracelet in the Ladies No-Limit event, beating 600 other players, adding $150,000 to her poker chest.
